How Alipay acceptance works
Customer scans or shows a code
At the counter the customer scans your QR code or shows their payment code to your terminal. Online they pay from the checkout page or a payment link.
Paid in RMB, settled in CAD
The customer sees the price in RMB at the live rate. You see the amount in Canadian dollars and are settled in CAD.

What is the difference between Alipay and WeChat Pay for my store?
For you they work the same way: the customer scans and pays, you are settled in Canadian dollars. Chinese consumers typically have both apps, so accepting both means you never turn a customer away. AlphaPay enables both on the same terminal or QR code.
When is the money settled?
T+2, two business days after the transaction.
Is there a monthly fee?
No. There is no setup fee and no monthly fee. You pay a service fee only on successful transactions, and that fee is waived when you refund.
Can customers get a refund?
Yes. You issue the refund from the AlphaPay app or dashboard and the amount is returned to the customer’s Alipay wallet. The service fee on the refunded transaction is waived.
Do I need to close the day manually?
No. Alipay and WeChat Pay transactions close automatically at 12:00 am Pacific time every day.
Can I accept Alipay on my website?
Yes. Install the free AlphaPay plugin for Shopify, WooCommerce, Magento or OpenCart, or integrate with the AlphaPay API.
